Just before I left the office building of Priva in De Lier (near Rotterdam, the Netherlands), I realized I did not hear any of the cars and trucks on the nearby main road. It’s about 50 meters to the roundabout on the N223, and yet the sound of cars and trucks slowing down and accelerating is almost not-present.
Someone told me some time ago, the windows have been designed with special sound-blocking glazing. Next time I meet one of the designers, I must remember to ask them about it.
It’s the opposite of the not-so-silent event space I had been working in some weeks ago. And you really feel the difference in concentration – and hence in output.
