This morning when I left my room in the hotel, I went back and forth to ensure I did not forget anything. I heard my shoes on the floor. Ceramic parquet. Beautiful. But it makes a lot of noise. Not that it bothers me – it’s my feet and I still control them :-).
But I did wonder how the neighbors below would be thinking.
It all depends on the construction, of course. But I do hope there is some extra layer of damping insulation between the parquet and the screed which is on top of the concrete floor. Otherwise, that sound must be amplified to a hindering level, that could make people damn nervous down there. Definitely when ladies with high heels are “ticking” their way through the room.
