There is one Sunday every year on which several Belgian major cities ban all the cars from their city centre – that is called Car-free Sunday. Today is the Plane-free Wednesday. Not intentional – but a consequence of the national strike. There is one ‘collateral benefit’ from this strike: there are no planes flying low over Belgium, since there is no way to land them on Zaventem (Brussels Airport). It wasn’t until I had read this little post on internet, that I discovered the one and only benefit from a national strike. Bad for the Belgian reputation. Very bad for economy. True. But thanks to the Bulletin, at least I got to see a little positive light in this dark matter.
